Single Review: The Script – ‘Nothing’
2 min readGaining worldwide recognition in 2008 after the bands monster single Breakeven landed a Top 20 position in the US charts, The Script have been a band in huge demand with an international fan following and a favorite among influential musicians including Paul McCartney and U2 front-man Bono.
The Irish pop powerhouse return in top form this month with the release of the second single to be taken from the bands mammoth sophomore release, Science and Faith.
Nothing is a sweet pop swooner that eloquently utilizes the flawless vocal talents of front-man Danny O’Donoghue to full effect. Belting the love drenched lyrics from start to end, O’Donoghue is master of his domain as he walks a tightrope between emotive crooner and heartbroken lover as the fantastic guitar riffs and infectious piano tinkering creates one of the most moving soundscapes that we have heard from The Script.
The Irish trio seem to do no wrong with the success of their latest record Science and Faith cementing the bands place within the global mainstream following previous single, For The First Time, sitting proudly within the Top 5 when released earlier this year.
Nothing is a perfect follow up to For The First Time and a strong single for the band that rings of the promise of a future chart topper for the lads.
