Single Review: Roll Deep feat. Alesha Dixon – ‘Take Control’
2 min readRoll Deep have been one of the years biggest breakthrough acheivements having scored two number ones with their latest singles, Good Times and previous chart topper Green Light.
Roll Deep have been quite a force in the music industry with both Dizzee Rascal and Tinchy Stryder being part of the outfit before breaking away to pursue what would become highly successful solo careers.
The grime collective have now teamed up with the UK’s RnB princess, Alesha Dixon for the groups next single Take Control which proves to be their best release to date. The match is perfect for the band who welcome Dixon to the fold for the outfits next hit. Dixon of course is no stranger to hit records with a successful career in girl band Misteeq as well as her own fruitful solo career.
The grinding single is a rhythmic beast of dance infused RnB with a glossy pop production that has the same potential of topping the charts as their previous singles.
Now on their fourth record, Roll Deep’s latest single is a treat for fans of the outfit as well as a bonus for followers of Dixon who sounds vocally confident and robust on Take Control as she skips through the single amongst the quick rap delivery of Roll Deep.
The singles parent record, Winner Stays On, is penciled in for release on 8th November and will include a further collaboration with pop girl group, The Saturdays.
