Patty Griffin has confirmed tour dates for October. Beginning in her home city of Austin, TX, on October 10, the dates go through October 26. The tour is in support of her highly acclaimed latest record, American Kid. It also coincides with the official release on October 8 of her long-lost album, Silver Bell – a record that was recorded in 2000 and never came out due to her first label A&M’s turn-of-the-century ownership change.
American Kid, co-produced by Griffin and Craig Ross, is her seventh and first for New West. It is her first album of mainly new material since the acclaimed Children Running Through in 2007. In between then and now, she made the Grammy Award-winning Downtown Church in 2010 and became a member of Band of Joy alongside Robert Plant.
