Single Review: The Pipettes – ‘Call Me’

Futuristic pop ensemble The Pipettes are building on the success of the bands 2006 debut record We Are The Pipettes with their infectious and spacey new single Call Me which sees its release this week and the track is a full-on injection of power pop at its retro best.
Call Me is the second single to be taken from the six-piece pop acts forthcoming album, Earth Vs The Pipettes, and after a major reshuffling within the band the track sees The Pipettes with a progressive and trigger happy hit making formula.
Originally a three piece harmony girl group who had moderate success with their debut, Call Me sees a complete band makeover with no original members left to carry the name. With the new line up comes a new brand of electro-pop and Call Me, along with the new albums first single Stop The Music, could see The Pipettes making bigger waves than their past Pipettes achieved.
Call Me pulls inspiration from seventies chic pop and eighties disco vibes and the new single is an enjoyable dance track after an almost four year hiatus that will be exploding into the clubs and onto the radio this summer.
