Single Review: Swedish House Mafia – ‘One’
2 min readSweden’s treasured sons of dance, Swedish House Mafia, pull out all the stops with their latest progressive electro house single, One, which will be released in the UK on July 26th.
Swedish House Mafia is made up of DJ dance trio Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso who over the few years have developed an integral and unique sound within the mainstream dance genre and in turn have grown a substantial cult following. Individually successful DJ’s in their own right, the trio together have been heavily involved with the creation of some of the music industry’s most successful remixes bu A-listers including Madonna, Kylie, The Temper Trap and NERD.
As the bands first official single release, they have roped in American producer/songwriter/singer Pharrell Williams for the track making One a song that is nothing short of genius with a deep and dirty club feel packed with a grinding and pulsating rhythm to get even the most prude of people pumping on the dance-floor.
The production of the track is quite masterful. With the expertise of the three individual acclaimed DJ’s and a vocal loop of one of the music industry’s most prominent stars, One is a track that ticks all the boxes as not only a massive club hit but also a radio friendly alternative dance number with a kick that gets us very excited about the forthcoming album.
