News: Aussie Concert Series ‘A Day On The Green’ Begins 14th Season

2 min read

(AUS) The hugely successful outdoor concert series – A Day On The Green – has begun its 14th season, with another bumper schedule of concerts planned.

The 2014/2015 season kicks off with event number 337 at Robert Oatley Vineyards in the beautiful town of Mudgee NSW, where Jimmy Barnes and The Living End play the first of nine a day on the green shows AND with event number 338 at Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa Valley SA with a multi-artist Classic Hits show.

This summer’s a day on the green events once again offer the same diversity of music that has characterised the brand since its inception in January 2001. Mariah Carey, John Legend, Paul Simon & Sting, Roxette, Billy Idol and Cheap Trick will all take to the stage at wineries nationally. 24 concerts are so far announced, with more to come.

That A Day On The Green has not only survived, but continues to thrive after 13 years in the often turbulent live concert arena is a huge accomplishment. The event has built an incredibly loyal following and substantial members database, consistently has capacity crowds at events all around Australia and provides a huge boon to local tourism in the winery regions.

The buzz in the regional markets when a day on the green hits town for the weekend is truly something to behold! Pubs, cafes and restaurants are bursting with out-of-towners mixing with locals, supermarkets and deli’s are selling out of cheese and other picnic items and a festive spirit is everywhere.

The secret has always been that a day on the green events are much more than concerts. They are music experiences to share with friends over a picnic and a few bottles of good wine, and perhaps a weekend away.
