Single Review: Adam Lambert – ‘Whataya Want From Me’
2 min read
American Idol glam rocker Adam Lambert is back with us this month with the follow up to the huge debut smash single, For Your Entertainment. Taken from the singers debut album, also titled For Your Entertainment, this time the eccentric rocker does it ballad style with a number co-penned by US superstar P!nk titled Whataya Want From Me.
The track is a vulnerable and heart-on-your-sleeve number for the singer who oozes glam and guyliner to its camp brim, emerging as one of the most adored successes of the American reality show.
This time he proves that he is no one trick pony, albeit with the help of the genius that is P!nk who originally wrote the track for her latest album Funhouse. Fortunately for Adam the track never made it to the final cut of Funhouse and instead landed in the hands of the free spirited singer who took it on and made it his own.
We have seen him do dance floor pop and now we get a real treat with Whataya Want From Me, stripping it back and taking it down a few notches in true ballad style.
Lambert has an incredible and extremely versatile voice as well as a real musical flare and Whataya Want From Me portrays just that. He puts his voice through the steps with falsetto lines being mixed with almost crooner style verses. It’s quality and quantity fantastically combined to create a fresh yet heartfelt summer single.
