Single Review: Calvin Harris & Disciples – ‘How Deep Is Your Love’
1 min readIf you have listened to the radio in the last few months you would have almost certainly heard the creative talents of Adam Richard Wiles aka Calvin Harris. Whether it was one of his remarkable 9 top ten hits from the single album 18 Months, or one of his numerous collaborations with the likes of Rhianna, Florence Welch, Dizzee Rascal, Tiny Tempah or Ellie Goulding (just to name a few), Wiles has been cementing his name as one of the most prolific DJs in the world.
Wiles’ latest release, How Deep Is Your Love is somewhat of a curve-ball is terms of what people have come to expect from the Forbes rich-list record-spinner. Partnering up with Disciples, Wiles has opted for a much deeper sound, leaving the drops and fist-pump inducing sounds behind.
Disciples seem to have had the strongest influence on the release. Their punchy-bass and vocal sampling style (elements that seem to make an appearance on most pop-house tracks) combine nicely with the vocals that are provided by the ever excellent Ina Wroldsen. If you like Route 94 or Disclosure, this could possibly be your new favorite song.
