Single Review: Busta Rhymes – ‘Thank You’ (Feat. Q-Tip, Kanye West and Lil Wayne)
2 min readThank You is a fun-filled track and it’s clear that Busta Rhymes enjoyed collaborating with Q-Tip, Kanye West and Lil Wayne. It can be found that people will appreciate and love the art of rap music when they listen to this song. Busta Rhymes produced this track himself, uniquely sampling bits and pieces from Alicia Meyer’s 1981 track, I Wanna Thank You. It’s clear that the track was made for Busta Rhymes’ fans for the sense of appreciation and gratefulness he feels being able to make music after keeping quiet for a few years.
Busta Rhymes’ anticipated album,E.L.E.2 (Extinction Level Event 2) will be released this year and listening to this single will definitely keep fans on their toes for a while. The track itself showcases the passion Busta Rhymes has for his rap music and to be able to do that through an epic collaboration with other rappers is obviously something worthwhile doing.
Listening to Thank You can either be a hit or a miss for some people although, after a couple of listens, the track grows on you eventually. The track itself pans out quite interestingly because it is such a fast-paced and energetic song and it’s impressive to see how the rappers have collaborated in the most efficient and productive manner. Usually collaborations with many different artists can be quite messy but somehow, they all make it work. Even though Kanye West and Lil Wayne make little contribution, the track would not have been the same without them. Q-Tip’s flawless rapping adds a sense of variety in the track too.
Fans of Busta Rhymes should stick around and see what’s in store because listening to Thank You is only a sample of what’s on offer by the American Rapper.
