Single Review: Orphan Boy – ‘Some Frontier’

The lads of Orphan Boy are back this month with the second track to be taken from their sophomore album, Passion, Pain and Loyalty.
While the bands earlier material was very centered around the garage band sounds of a new act unaware of their own appeal, the foursomes latest offerings have provided us with a glimpse of the acts mainstream potential.
Some Frontier takes a giant leap into commercial indie with the parent records second gift following the release of Popsong earlier this year. Popsong, though a nice effort for the boys, was a more subdued and waltzy release whereas Some Frontier takes the drivers seat with full anthemic force generating an effortless percussion heavy sound for the band in this anti-war anthem addition to the growing singles catalogue for the rising indie newbies.
The guitars ring throughout the track which is enforced by a rhythmic and uptempo drum beat that pushes the songs along nicely.
A lifting slice of indie angst mixed with thought provoking and heartfelt lyrics for Orphan Boy that oozes commercial appeal.
