Ones to Watch: Hepz Tagoe

Storming onto the live music scene in 2008 with her straight to the point hit single Record Deal, Hepz’s unique style of contemporary vocals with old school Funk beats quickly came to the attention of Gary Crowley and it was not long before she was earning well deserved radio airplay on BBC London 94.9.
After supporting artists on stage that have included Rizzle Kicks and Yasmin whilst building a name for herself performing on the live London music scene non stop for 5 years, Hepz decided it was time to take a break and threw herself into writing new material.
With her growing fan base of young professionals and own life experiences, Hepz chose that her forthcoming E.P Tales of A Bachelorette would focus on the trials and tribulations of modern day dating in her hometown London.

“Lead track Mr. He’ll Do came to me when I was reading an article by Wendy Gomersall” says Hepz. “The headline said ‘I refused until now to be content with Mr. He’ll Do so why should I throw in the towel after all that and marry just any guy who’ll have me’ and I thought to myself, that is a great song title that I feel both men and woman can relate to, the need to feel to settle as there is no one half decent around. After that I couldn’t stop writing and before I knew it, I had 5 tracks ready for the E.P.”
The video to Mr He’ll Do shows Hepz’s alto egos and has been receiving great feedback.

Look out for Hepz; the future is looking very promising. She will be showcasing her new material all over the London music scene through 2014. She says ‘This E.P is the soundtrack to my life, what I love most about it is that I’ve played it to friends and family and they’ve said the same about their own experiences’ It’s real life, there are tracks on there I feel everyone can relate to’.
