News: The Corrs Announces New Album ‘White Light’
2 min read(UK) The Corrs step back into the limelight with ‘White Light’, a stunning new album released November 27th on East West Records. The first single, ‘Bring On The Night’, will be available to stream and download October 30th.
The Corrs made a most welcome return in September with a sensational appearance at the Radio 2 Hyde Park extravaganza, playing to over 50,000 people. They also charmed the media at London’s Ronnie Scott’s Club where they previewed new material with an acoustic live performance and announced a major UK and Irish tour for January 2016.
‘White Light’ is written by the Corrs and recorded in London. The album, their first in ten years, features 12 brand new songs, eight produced by John Shanks and four produced by engineer Chris Young. Ash Howes mixed the new single.
The Corrs have sold over 40 million albums with their exquisite mix of modern pop and traditional Irish folk music. Highlights on this eagerly anticipated new collection are many and include the gently political ‘Ellis Island’, a song already praised by Bono; and the evocative ‘Gerry’s Reel’, an instrumental dedicated to their late father, Gerry Corr who sadly passed away earlier this year. The lyrical themes of the album reflect life, love, loss and maturity.
