Single Review: Kirsty Almeida – ‘Spider’
1 min read
Kirsty Almeida is a force not to be reckoned with. The singer hailing from Manchester is about to release her debut single Spider this month and the track is astounding for a debut.
It’s a lyrically quirky song for the eccentric beauty, packed full of jazz and soul beats, a nice horn section and a classy jazz piano is a subtle yet highly affective contribution to Kirsty’s sound which draws inspiration partly from sixties R&B and modern jazz as well as a pop layering for the commercial draw.
It’s a big song from a big voice owned by a very talented woman whose popularity is on the increase being in high demand throughout the 2010 festival season. One of the best debut singles I have heard in a very long time.
