Single Review: Josh Osho feat. Childish Gambino – ‘Giants’

2 min read

Josh Osho and rising star Childish Gambino have paired up in what can only really be described as a match made in musical heaven for Osho’s latest dive into the mainstream. Giants is the gifted singer-songwriter’s most promising release to date and the collaboration with Gambino, who has been busy securing his own place within the UK’s latest in musical treats, has been met with widespread applause as we are now introduced with the fruits of their labor.

JoshOshoGiantsGiants is being released as an EP and contains the radio version of the single as well as four revved up and credible remix creations to appeal to the masses. With mixes provided by up and coming, underground heavyweights Midi Mafia, Sticky and Swindle, it is the radio version that stands out on the EP and the inclusion of Childish Gambino’s quick paced rap lickings highlights the diverse appeal that this track comes hand in hand with.

Soulful and sung with pure conviction, Giants is a masterpiece and every ounce of detail has been applied so generously to the short player, showing off not only the musical capabilities of a pair of rising stars but also the exquisite vocal skills of Osho who radiates throughout the track and knocks the ball right out of the park with the stars effortless and pitch-perfect approach to the single.

A lyrically confessional and poetic number Osho’s songwriting talents lay thick throughout the single particularly with chorus lines including ‘We all want to be giants but our heads are too heavy from the mess that we’re in’ as the single plays out to be one of the most soulful releases of 2012 so far.
