Single Review: Kasabian – ‘Re-Wired’

2 min read

Kasabian have so far had a very successful year with the release of the bands fourth record Velociraptor and the announcement of one of the years most eagerly anticipated arena tours in support of the latest studio project and its about to get even better with the release of Velociraptor’s second single, Re-Wired.

KasabianRewiredRe-Wired follows the parent records already successful single release Days Are Forgotten.

Opening with a brief distortion of instruments a pop laced guitar riff takes over and we are driven through a catchy four minute track that is heavily coated in nineties indie pop influences over-top lead singer Tom Meighan’s powerful and confidently pronounced vocals that swing through the single that, aside from the sheer infectious nature of the track, provide further memorability to the single.

To keep the interest levels at their peak the band include some meaty guitar riffs that hit the ball out the park and deliver a track that fits in well with the five piece’s previous recordings while still managing to sound fresh and matured.

Ending on the same high as Re-Wired began the track closes with a complimenting violin outro.

Kasabian don’t do anything half arsed and Re-Wired is yet another addition to the growing Kasabian catalogue that provides evidence of just that. Re-Wired is a track that gets us very excited about the bands upcoming Arena performances that includes two dates at London’s O2 Arena.
