Single Review: Say Lou Lou – ‘Everything We Touch’
2 min readSteadily and rather successfully so far, Swedish/Australian sister duo Say Lou Lou have been poising themselves for a highly-anticipated unveiling with a string of single releases and EP offerings over the past 2 years. With an early career name change and the release of some of synth-pops finest pennings in recent years including the dreamy Maybe You and Julian, Elektra and Miranda Kilbey are getting ready to release their latest single, Everything We Touch.
This track is a cracker of a hit, so let’s just get that out there nice and early. The song is atmospheric bliss in terms of its laid-back yet intriguing instrumental structure; the duos distinctive synth-pop stamp providing the number with its sturdy spine as the pairs exquisite vocal harmonies guide us through the hook-heavy pop heavyweight. There is a reason why these girls have been included on most Ones to Watch in 2014 lists around the world, as they did in 2013 and Everything We Touch will only add further fuel to the seemingly universal opinion that Say Lou Lou are set to be one of music’s brightest new electro-pop additions.
While the pair are yet to release a full length album, Everything We Touch keeps us on the edge with anticipation and craving a studio record full of hits just like this phenomenal and additive pearl. We are fairly confident in saying that this number will find a nice resting spot at the top of our Best Singles of 2014 list. Very confident indeed!
