Single Review: Paloma Faith – ‘Crybaby’
1 min readMother, actress, singer, songwriter – there’s really not much that Paloma Faith can’t do, and even then it’s likely she’d become the master of any task you set before her. After a well earned break, Faith has returned with Crybaby, from her upcoming 4th album, The Architect.
In a world of stereotypes, where men have to hide behind strict stoicism, Faith’s Crybaby is a refreshing breather. She has used this song to redefine what it is to be a man, advising you “don’t have to man up, that phrase kind of sucks, let yourself be free.”
In case you were worried, this is far from a tedious lecture. Despite the title, the music is incredibly playful. This is a fun song of encouragement and reassurance. It’s bound to be played on repeat, but it’s such an upbeat track you’ll be happy with the airtime Crybaby deserves.
Baby-brain hasn’t addled Paloma Faith’s talent one bit. Crybaby is a great start to what will undoubtedly be a fantastic album.
