Single Review: Joss Stone – ‘The Answer’

UK soul sensation Joss Stone is back on the airwaves, though goodness knows how she found the time to bring out new material with her busy touring schedule; currently she’s on her The Total World Tour, which started in April last year, and there’s still approximately a year and a half to go until she’s visited all 204 countries. While her new album Water For Your Soul isn’t due out until July 31st, we have been treated to the reggae/world music influenced lead single The Answer.
Written about the struggle people have every day to let go of their stress and change their lives, The Answer is as infectious as much of Stone’s previous work, and you’ll be shaking it in no time. The percussion is exciting, the lyrics are relatable, the violins are killer and vocally you won’t be disappointed; if you are a mega fan you should be pleased, and if you have only just stumbled on Joss you are in for a treat.
Excessive touring hasn’t exhausted Joss Stone’s songwriting talents, if anything her journeys have been more of an inspiration to the star. The Answer is a great track to return to her recording career with, it’s catchy and it gets stuck in your head, it also makes you want to let go of your changeable problems as the lyrics suggest.
