Single Review: Celine Dion – ‘Loved Me Back To Life’

2 min read

After taking several years out from releasing any new material, Celine Dion is about to release her latest English-language studio album, Loved Me Back To Life. Fronting the superstars latest effort is the title track, a powerful mid-tempo anthem that has been co-written by Australian singer-songwriter, Sia, who provided the vocals to David Guetta’s Titanium and also worked with Rihanna on the singers 2012 single, Diamonds.

CelineDionLovedMeSingleThe track is every bit the Celine masterpiece that we had hoped she would tease us with ahead of the forthcoming parent record’s unveiling. The single is soaked through to the bone with memorable hooks, carries an upbeat and spine-tingling rhythm and puts the superstars exquisite vocals into the spotlight as they raise the roof on the tracks powerful chorus.

The vibe of the single is a lot more youthful and pop heavy compared to previous Dion singles but where some stars may fail to impress the new generation of pop aficionados with their over the top and try-hard reinventions, Loved Me Back to Life is unintimidating to both long-time fans of the singer as well as the latest generation of listeners who may have once deemed the stars career as slightly uncool to follow. While the latest single inherits qualities that have made Celine Dion an international power-ballad staple for several decades, the track also enlists the help of a fresh electronic coating as well as some edgier rock elements nearing the end of the track to form a diverse and infectious hit for Celine.

It’s been a long time in the making and fans have been patient waiting for new material from the Las Vegas starlet but they will no doubt be happy with the gift Celine has presented us with on this new inclusion to the divas ever growing catalogue.
