News: Sheppard To Join Meghan Trainor On ‘That Bass’ Tour

2 min read

(US) Jumpstarting 2015, Brisbane breakout sensation Sheppard will support Meghan Trainor on her 2015 “That Bass” tour. The run starts on February 11 at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC and hits major markets all over the U.S. This marks the first time Sheppard is embarking on a full North American tour. The group is quickly becoming known not only for their rising smash “Geronimo,” but also their energetic and engaging live shows.

Recently, the group made their U.S. television debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, while “Geronimo” fueled a viral “lip-dub proposal” for NBC’s new show Marry Me. As a result, “Geronimo” vaulted over 30 spots on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart, with sales doubling on SoundScan.

“Geronimo” is now one of the Top 20 Most Played Songs on Spotify, with over 30 million plays worldwide. In addition, “Geronimo” has claimed spots on three of the streaming service’s most prominent lists—Top Tracks in the United States, Top 100 Alternative Tracks on Spotify, and Top 100 Pop Tracks on Spotify.

The band’s international success follows the mammoth reception Sheppard have received at home in Australia. Recently nominated for 7 ARIA awards, “Geronimo” is the highest selling single of 2014 in Australia, where it is certified four times platinum. The band’s Australian debut album, Bombs Away, has attained gold status, remaining atop the ARIA charts since release. What’s more, “Geronimo” is a Top 10 European airplay record, garnering radio play in 50 countries, as well as reaching the Top 10 on the singles chart in over 12 countries.
