News: Paloma Faith Lands First #1 ARIA Single

(AUS) On the eve of Paloma Faith’s promotional visit to Sydney, the UK singer-songwriter has landed her first #1 ARIA single in Australia, with the emotionally charged single, ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ which is currently serving the singer as her latest single Down Under. Not only is this Paloma’s first #1 in Australia but this also marks the first time she has hit the top spot anywhere in the world. Upon learning the news Paloma revealed:
“Wow! this is my first number one ever. I am gobsmacked and ecstatic. When I tweeted about this to the Australian audiences, I said I would move to the first place that gives me a number one….. Well….. What are the house prices like over there?!”
‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ was penned by the Grammy award winning Diane Warren (Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Cher)and is being used on a promotional sync for Channel 7’s hit TV series Winners & Losers, which has seen the track race up the charts to the top position.
Paloma Faith will be in Australia until Wednesday 30th July, promoting the ARIA #1 single and her third album A Perfect Contradiction. The album, A Perfect Contradiction debuted at #2 on the UK Charts earlier this year and stayed in the top 10 for a staggering 16 weeks! The album is now certified platinum in the UK.
