American Express presents BST Hyde Park today announces a full bill of support acts set to play ahead of a headline set by neil young and the chrome hearts. Already announced for the most legendary line up of the summer on Friday 11 July are Yusuf / Cat Stevens and Van Morrison, and they will be joined by Amble, Alice Merton, Naima Bock, Everyone Says Hi, BLUAI, Sarah Julia, Our Man In The Field, Kelly McGrath, Sam Wilkinson and HOLiDAY MYSTICS. Tickets are on sale now.
This year, neil young and the chrome hearts are heading across Europe and North America on their Love Earth World Tour. With his band, the chrome hearts – Spooner Oldham (Farfisa organ), Micah Nelson (guitar and vocal), Corey McCormick (bass and vocal), Anthony LoGerfo (drums) – Neil Young (guitar and vocal) is bringing new and old tunes to the stage, with the album Talkin To The Trees out on 13 June.
Irish folk trio Amble have just released their debut album, Reverie, showcasing their signature sound: relatability, intimate storytelling and authenticity, seamlessly blended with no-frills acoustic instrumentation, serene soundscapes, and heavenly natural harmonies.
Alice Merton “packs an introspective and analytical punch”, according to the Washington Post, following the release of her 2024 EP, Heron. Born in Germany and raised in Canada and England, since her 2016 debut No Roots, she has hit a billion streams and the Top 10 across Europe.
Naima Bock’s music draws on her Brazilian family’s roots and taps into music handed down through the generations. In September, she released Below a Massive Darkland, which The Line Of Best Fit wrote is “rich in ingenious details and guided by her thoughtful, mournful singing”.
Led by former Kaiser Chief Nick Hodgson, Everyone Says Hi released their eponymous debut album in January, with Line of Best Fit writing that “each song radiates the band’s confidence”, while DIY described the record as “impeccably constructed and quietly lush”.
On their debut album, 2024’s Save It For Later, BLUAI embarked on a road trip through the sonic landscapes where Big Thief, Pinegrove, Haim, and Alabama Shakes reside, winning the three leading Belgian music awards: (Humo’s Rock Rally, De Nieuwe Lichting, and Sound Track).
Amsterdam duo Sarah Julia this month released their second EP, Only Making It Worse, delving into a slightly poppier soundscape while affirming their entry into a canon of female singer-storytellers spinning gold from the fabric of everyday life, recalling elements of Phoebe Bridgers, Adrienne Lenker and Joni Mitchell.
The London-based Our Man In The Field, led by Alex Ellis, delivers storytelling songwriting in an Americana tradition, exemplified by the lush melancholia of recent single ‘Mice of Men’: “If I remember my way home, close my eyes and not get blown off course by those who would see me drown.”
Seasoned country singer Kelly McGrath returns to BST having appeared on Bruce Springsteen’s bill in 2023. Following that performance, Building Our Own Nashville wrote: “She is truly an exceptional artist with such breathtakingly beautiful music.”
South Londoner Sam Wilkinson’s debut album, Everything’s Alright, released in November, with CLASH writing: “In thrall to classic songwriting, he taps into something universal, while applying his own distinctive voice to the sessions.”
Holiday Mystics are a four piece romantically referenced as “a chaotic Fleetwood Mac and a mystic Red Hot Chili Peppers”, unapologetically merging gritty indie/alt rock with mystic pop.
Neil Young is, without doubt, one of the most influential and prolific songwriters to emerge from the 1960s. Since his career began in Canada’s folk scene, Young has released more than 40 studio albums, as well multiple live albums, whether with Buffalo Springfield or Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, or solo or with his band Crazy Horse. While his long career is littered with bold and unexpected artistic decisions, Neil Young also has a back catalogue packed with certified classics, from ‘Heart of Gold’ and ‘Harvest Moon’ to ‘My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)’ to ‘Rockin’ in the Free World’. neil young and the chrome hearts’ Talkin to The Trees is out on 13th June.
Described as one of pop’s master songwriters, Yusuf / Cat Stevens launched to fame in the sixties with chart-topping pop hits like ‘Matthew and Son’ and ‘First Cut is the Deepest’. Following a serious breakdown in health, he resurfaced as one of the most profoundly influential singer-songwriters of the seventies. His introspective lyrics called towards fixing a broken world; ‘Wild World’, ‘Father and Son’, ‘Where Do The Children Play?’ and ‘Peace Train’ established his place in the annals of music history. Inducted into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Yusuf / Cat Stevens is the recipient of an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection and a two-time recipient of the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award. To date, he has sold over 100 million records and has over 4 billion streams. His music has been covered by everyone from Johnny Cash to Santana, Rod Stewart to Dolly Parton.
A maverick, a contrarian and a songwriting genius, there is no one in music quite like Van Morrison. From fronting up Them in the 1960s to the arrival, seemingly from the stars, of Astral Weeks, he has cemented his place as one of the greats. His songbook features monumental classics such as ‘Brown Eyed Girl’, ‘Moondance’ and ‘Days Like This’ but as a multi-instrumentalist his importance goes well beyond pop, fusing and innovating in the spheres of R&B, jazz, blues, and Celtic folk.
Neil Young joins fellow headliners for 2025 Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan, Stevie Wonder and Jeff Lynne’s ELO. Expect more incredible announcements soon, for the 2025 edition of the UK’s most anticipated summer event.
