News: Jazz Legends Chick Corea & Herbie Hancock To Unite For A Series Of Performances
1 min read(AUS) At long last, jazz royalty Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea return to Australia and New Zealand, on stage together for a series of rare and historic duo performances in May – June. For more than half a century, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea have been blazing their own paths of artistic innovation at the keyboard.
From the great Miles Davis bands of the 1960s, to the stadium-filling, genre-shattering Headhunters and Return to Forever of the ‘70s, to their unparalleled, award-winning careers ever since, Hancock and Corea are among the most important influences on jazz – and beyond – of our time.
Between Corea and Hancock, they boast 34 Grammy Awards combined and more than five decades of experience on stage; each a living legend of exceptional output, constantly transcending genre and stylistic restriction. Though both artists have established their own indelible careers, they each share a similarly uncompromising approach to their craft. Through constant reinvention and a rich history of experimentation, both musicians have stood as icons of progression, always straddling the divide between avant-garde and pop effortlessly.
