News: George The Poet Announces 2015 Headline UK Tour

(UK) George The Poet has announced his first headline nationwide UK tour. The tour kicks off on 19 February 2015 in Glasgow at the Glasgow Berkley and from there will travel to Manchester, Birmingham, London, Bristol and Brighton.
George The Poet is one of the most unique new artists to emerge in the UK in recent years. He has regularly appeared on the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky TV, blending poetry and rap to hypnotic effect, and over four million people have watched him on YouTube. He has featured on the tracks of a variety of noteworthy artists – including Labrinth, Naughty Boy, Tinie Tempah, Wretch 32, Emeli Sandé and Paolo Nutini – and has recently been in the studio with Idris Elba guesting on Elba’s forthcoming album, ‘Mi Mandela’
This December will see the release of George’s debut EP ‘The Chicken and the Egg EP’ (out on 1st December via PALM), and single ‘1,2,1,2’ (out 1st December on Island Records). ‘1,2,1,2’ is produced by upcoming house production duo Bodhi and follows on from their popular bootleg of George The Poet’s poetic ode to London ‘My City’. Further highlighting George’s ability to fuse dance floor friendly beats with street savvy verse and wordplay, ‘1,2,1,2’ is receiving heavy radio rotation having been added to Radio 1’s ‘In Music We Trust Playlist’ and picked up spins from the likes of Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac, to name a few. Meanwhile George is busy in the studio working with a diverse range of producers – from Sly & Robbie and MJ Cole through to Steve Booker (John Newman) and Matthew Benbrook (Paolo Nutini) – on his debut album due for release via Island Records in the summer of 2015.
Tickets for George The Poet’s 2014 nationwide UK Tour will go on general sale on at 9am on Friday 21st November 2014, with presales available from 9am on Wednesday 19th November. Tickets will be priced between £8 – £10 (subject to per-ticket charge plus order processing fee), and will be available to purchase via Live Nation.
