News: G.R.L. Confirm Return To Aus As Special Guests For Meghan Trainor

2 min read

(AUS) Live Nation has announced that pop sensations G.R.L. will join Meghan Trainor on her Australian tour this April.

2014 saw G.R.L. launch into the spotlight with the release of their four-times-platinum hit single ‘Ugly Heart’ which hit #2 on the ARIA singles chart, following the blockbuster success in their co-starring role on ‘Wild Wild Love’ with Pitbull and the release of their self-titled EP. Their latest single, ‘Lighthouse’, was written and released as a touching tribute to G.R.L.’s Simone Battle, who tragically passed away last year.

The group will join Meghan Trainor, the breakthrough pop phenomenon – who hit #1 with her infectious smash single ‘All About That Bass’ – playing two all-ages shows, appearing at the Big Top at Luna Park, Sydney on April 27 and The Forum, Melbourne on April 30.

Currently undertaking an extensive North American tour, Meghan Trainor’s Australian dates come on the back of the release of her debut album, ‘Title’ (through Sony Music Australia), also featuring the ARIA #3 hit ‘Lips Are Movin’ and platinum follow-up ‘Dear Future Husband.’

Meghan’s smash debut ‘All About That Bass’ spent four weeks at #1 on the ARIA singles chart, three weeks topping the national airplay chart and has reached sales of six-times-platinum.

The catchy track also reigned at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for eight straight weeks, hit #1 on the iTunes singles chart in more than 70 countries and #1 on the global Spotify and Shazam Charts. The positive body image anthem has racked up an impressive 655 million views on the pastel-pop video and more than 220 million streams worldwide.

Meghan’s massive year has culminated in a number of award nominations, including a 2014 American Music Award nominee for New Artist of the Year, and two 2015 Grammys (Record of the Year & Song of the Year for ‘All About That Bass’).

Tickets for both shows are on sale now. For complete tour and ticketing details visit here.
