(AUS) Alex and Sierra today announced the release date of their debut album ‘It’s About Us’. The record will be available from October 17th through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. The hardworking duo collaborated with multiple noted producers and songwriters on the new album, including Toby Gad (Beyoncé), John Legend, Sam Hollander (Neon Trees, Gym Class Heroes), and Julian Bunetta (One Direction), among others.

First single, ‘Scarecrow’ hit the airwaves on Friday 28th August and was the #5 most added in the week of release. This rollicking folk-pop stomper is rapidly climbing the Australian charts. Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton met while still in high school. The duo formed a close relationship, with Sierra following musician/singer Alex on his run of shows across Florida. Soon Alex began encouraging Sierra to join him on stage, and the collaboration began to blossom creatively, gradually transitioning into Alex & Sierra. Mentored by Simon Cowell on The X Factor U.S.A., Alex & Sierra grew into one of the franchise’s most popular acts, winning America’s vote week after week on Season 3 and becoming the first group to win top honours on the music competition show.

The duo has already found tremendous iTunes success, reaching #1 on the US chart with their covers of A Great Big World’s ‘Say Something,’ and Sara Bareilles’ ‘Gravity,’ and selling more than a million units of their X Factor repertoire. Garnering over 2 million online fans and 85 million overall YouTube views during their ascent as one of the most buzzed-about pop duos in years, Alex & Sierra proved they had captured all of America’s hearts – now it’s Australia’s turn to join the fan club.
