American Express presents BST Hyde Park adds another massive headliner for 2020 – the world’s biggest pop artist – Taylor Swift. The album was her fourth UK Number 1, making her the female star with the most chart toppers this decade, and was the top selling album in the US in just 48 hours of release. Lover had the highest first week sales for any album in the US since her 2017 release, reputation.

And she is equally famed for her live extravaganzas. When Taylor came to BST Hyde Park in 2015, she was riding high on the success of her 1989 album and performed a landmark concert to 65,000 fans. All the hits, an incredible show, famous friends joining her on stage – she made London her own.

5 years later, Taylor has become one of the defining artists of a generation. Named as Artist of the Decade by the American Music Awards, the Lover album has received universal plaudits and spawned its own festivals – Lover Fest East and Lover Fest West in the USA.

Her legendary shows are pop spectacles of the highest order – from huge guests that have ranged from Camilla Cabello to Mick Jagger over the years, to amazing stage sets including Reputation Stadium Tour’s giant inflatable snake. 2015 saw her soaring over the Hyde Park crowd on a giant rotating bridge!

Her rich catalogue of songs have defined a decade – massive hits like ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’, ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘22’, ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’, ‘Bad Blood’, right up to recent smashes ‘Me (ft. Brendon Urie)’, ‘You Need to Calm Down’ and ‘Lover’.

Taylor was the first woman and one of only two female solo artists, along with Adele, to win Album Of The Year twice at the Grammys for her solo recordings. She won the award for 2010 for Fearless and again in 2016 for 1989.

This month, Taylor surpassed another milestone – she won six American Music Awards, taking her all-time total to 29. Taylor is the most awarded artist in AMA history.

Now Taylor returns to London, a city that has become a second home for her, which she immortalised in the track ‘London Boy’ on the new album.
