Single Review: Amelia Lily – ‘Party Over’
2 min readWe were first offered a glimpse into the talent of power-house vocalist Amelia Lily when the singer appeared on the eighth series of the UK X-Factor in 2011.
The pink haired beauty was the year’s most memorable contestant after being eliminated by mentor Kelly Rowland before being invited back onto the show through a public vote and going on to the final stages of the seasons run.
Since her appearances on the reality talent show we have been offered two singles in the form of You Bring Me Joy, released in September 2012 and peaking at Number 2 in the UK Charts as well as the following Shut Up (and Give Me Whatever You Got), a Top 20 hit in January.
The star is now on the verge of releasing her first full length record, Be A Fighter, penciled in for release on April 29th. Ahead of the release of the album we have been offered the singers next single Party Over which continues Amelia’s reign over the world of pop.
Once again Amelia is on top form vocally as she ignites this firecracker of a track from the very first opening notes. The rhythm is a lot more dance orientated than what we are used to from Amelia but the style suites Amelia’s striking vocal skills as she bounces around the tracks energetic, hook drenched rhythm with precision and ease.
Party Over is everything we could expect from Amelia; it’s fun, youthful, hook-heavy and dripping in up-tempo pop sweetness from start to end.
With the singer becoming the latest artist signed to Xenomania, the UK songwriting team behind Girls Aloud, Amelia might just become flyer of the UK pop flag for a new generation of infectious pop loving fans. Despite the songs title, the party is only just getting started for one of the biggest and brightest talents to come out of the UK for some time.
