Single Review: Alexis Jordan – ‘Acid Rain’

2 min read

Alexis Jordan exploded onto the international charts when she released her vibrant debut single, Happiness back in 2010. The single made its way to the number one spot in several European countries as well as the Top 3 in the United Kingdom and Australia. Her debut self-titled album followed soon after and spawned another club favorite, Good Girl and the final single to be taken from the album, Hush, Hush.

AlexisJordanAcidRainThings have been relatively calm on the Alexis Jordan front since the final release from that debut but the R&B princess is back this year with her sophomore album and in the lead up to its release later this year Alexis has unveiled the records lead single, Acid Rain.

Taking a similar approach to singles from her first record, Acid Rain begins with a deep, grinding, electronic beat than ushers us toward a powerful and memorable chorus hook while her vocals shine on the number. The hit could rival any Rihanna track and also contains electro-pop elements not too dissimilar to that of Lady Gaga. This could certainly prove to be another major hit for Alexis as the song proves to be a musically versatile penning as she skips from heavy trance  to soft, piano driven moments with confidence and ease.

If Acid Jazz is indicative of the rest of the track listing of Alexis’ upcoming sophomore release then we are in for one hell of a treat in 2013 when that record is finally dropped.
