Single Review: Will.i.am feat Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger – ‘T.H.E (The Hardest Ever)’
2 min read
Will.i.am seems to be able to do no wrong these days. Already having a highly successful career as the frontman of the Grammy award winning foursome Black Eyed Peas the star remains discontent to slowing down the music mill and has now taken his solo career to the next level with the release of his latest single, T.H.E (The Hardest Ever).
Still retaining the influences that Black Eyes Peas have been so successful with the rap superstar has pieced together a futuristic track full of surprises.
Effects are what this track is all about as it builds up progressively around a structure of energetic spacey beats that provide a mature continuity to Will.i.am’s later Black Eyes Peas material. Jennifer Lopez provides a seductive “You can go hard or you can go home” loop before offering a nice mid section to the track that includes some nice harmonies with the leading man.
Where Maroon 5 made a mere, flattering reference to the aging icon, will.i.am has taken it further and enlisted Rolling Stones’ front-man and music veteran Mick Jagger to provide his own flavorsome vocal lickings to T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) with fantastic results as the star gyrates in to offer the song its ‘scene stealing’ closing.
T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) proves to be yet another successful release for one of the digital era’s most prominent stars and with fellow music heavyweights like Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez joining the ride, T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) is set to be one of the musicians most lucrative projects.
