It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard James Keogh, better know by his pseudonym Vance Joy, hitting the sound waves with a fresh track, the last single released being Straight Into Your Arms in early 2016. After a longish period of writing and recording material abroad, he is back with a brand new number, Lay It All On Me.

His clean, clear, summery, laid back sound is sure to give you the lift you need, after the first listen you will be in love and immediately hit repeat. Vance Joy’s lyrics explore the feeling of letting your guard down and letting someone you love into your life- that scary moment where you want to express your love and pretty much deliver your vulnerable beating heart on a silver platter to this person and hope they don’t make chop suey out of it.

The pace and feel of the track is well balanced in its give and take of energy.  The music compliments the lyrics perfectly, building up to the moment where Vance Joy sings “Lay it all on me now”, a feeling of undercurrent vibrancy bringing us to the uplifting and joyous explosion of sound. On the cusp of embarking on a tour in his native Australia, Vance Joy will have the crowds passionately singing along to Lay It All On Me for sure.
