Single Review: The Weeknd – ‘Earned It’ (Fifty Shades Of Grey)

Fifty Shades Of Grey comes from Canadian singer/songwriter The Weeknd with his new tune titled Earned It. For the small percentage of people who have never heard of Fifty Shades Of Grey, it is the first instalment within a trilogy of books that have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, now Universal Pictures & Focus Features have created a film adaption which brings us to Earned It the first single from the films soundtrack.
The Weeknd also known as his birth name Abel Tesfaye first burst onto the scene back in 2010, since then the R&B star has released five albums and won multiple awards plus a Grammy nomination. His latest offering is a steamy ballad titled Earned It which will feature on the Fifty Shades Of Grey film soundtrack. Tesfaye’s smooth vocals create a steamy and sensual vibe which is to be expected considering it will feature in the film.
Tesfaye definitely has one of the best modern day R&B voices and it certainly shows in this track, his pitch and tone are spot on which makes this a soothing listen. Whilst I will not be going to see the film The Weeknd has made me consider checking out the rest of the soundtrack when it drops later this year.
