News: WEEZER Announces Self-Titled New Album Due April 1st

2 min read

(US) Weezer are proud to announce their self-titled, tenth studio album (destined to be known by the color of the record’s cover art – “the white album”), which will be self-released on April 1st, 2016. Produced by the band and Jake Sinclair, The White Album follows 2014’s critically praised Everything Will Be Alright In The End, and continues that record’s celebrated return to musical form. The first new song available from The White Album (which also features last year’s awesome “Do You Wanna Get High?” and current fast-approaching Top Ten Alternative Radio single “Thank God For Girls”) is a sun-bleached sing-along called “King Of The World.”

Weezer will also be embarking on a massive, nationwide U.S. co-headlining tour this summer with Panic! At The Disco. The 40+ city tour (tour dates below) will feature Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness as a special guest. Fans can get their tickets early by signing up to the band’s mailing list before January 18th to receive a code to access the pre-sale tickets available on January 19th at 10 am local time – OR – by clicking on Pandora’s specially curated tour mixtape from 2 PM local time on January 19 through 10 PM local time on January 21. General on-sale tickets will be available on January 22 at 10 am local time.

The band will also be playing “Thank God For Girls” on tonight’s LIVE episode of Undateable, at 8 pm ET on NBC, and will be stopping by Jimmy Kimmel Live on January 19th.

In 2015, Weezer found themselves without a record label for the first time in their career. With no set plan to make a full album, the band let the creativity they poured into EWBAITE continue. Following the tremendous response to the two brilliant songs they released last year, the band decided it was time to cull what they’d been working on into a record.
