News: The Wombats Announce Sydney Headline Show
1 min read(AUS) The Wombats will be performing one and only Australian headline show at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney, Sunday January 3.
Having just been added to the Falls Festival lineups in Byron NSW and Marion Bay TAS, as well as Southbound Festival, the Brit-pop trio were in Australia earlier this year, playing to a huge and enthusiastic crowd at Splendour In The Grass. Their Splendour sideshows saw a number of venue upgrades and fast following sell-outs across the country (check out the live footage of “Emoticons” filmed at their recent show at the Hordern Pavilion here).
The Wombats have just wrapped up their US tour and are currently making their was across the UK and Europe in support of their third album ‘Glitterbug’, which scored a triple j feature album that debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts, featuring their latest single ‘The English Summer’ as well as ‘Greek Tragedy’, ‘Give Me a Try’ and ‘Your Body Is A Weapon’.
The Wombats made their Splendour debut in 2008 with songs from their killer debut album ‘A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation’. Previous album ‘This Modern Glitch’ with its hit singles ‘Tokyo’ (Vampires and Wolves) and ‘Jump Into The Fog’ saw The Wombats build on the initial success of their debut album as it also reached #2 on the ARIA album chart and achieving platinum sales.
