News: The Ting Tings To Tour With New Album ‘Super Critical’
2 min read(US) Following a successful run of select critically acclaimed dates, The Ting Tings have extended their North American tour with an additional 23 stops across the country. The U.K. pop duo is touring in support of their new full-length album Super Critical, out now via Finca/[PIAS]. The album’s first single “Wrong Club” has just impacted commercial radio and is already playlisted at major market stations including Alice in San Francisco and KAMX in Austin.
The tour kicks off with a special performance at an official showcase during SXSW March 17-22, with the first headlining performance taking place Monday, March 23 at the House of Blues in San Diego, CA. The Ting Tings will then play The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles March 24 and The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco March 26, returning to both markets following recent swift sold-out shows in more intimate venues. In addition, they will hit large markets including Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis and Chicago before stopping in Brooklyn on April 6 for a previously postponed date at Rough Trade. Tickets for all dates go on sale this Friday, January 30. For complete tour schedule and purchase links click here.
The Ting Tings – known for their massive hits “That’s Not My Name” and “Shut Up and Let Me Go,” among others -approached this new album differently. Feeling uninspired, the two sought out an adventure in late 2012 which took them to Ibiza. While there, someone introduced Katie and Jules to Duran Duran’s stalwart guitarist Andy Taylor who offered to help sift through some old demos and became co-producer of this project. Songs began emerging. The result is Super Critical, a hook-stuffed, introspective, modern disco record.
