News: Spark Releases New EP

2 min read

(UK) Hotly tipped to be a British female breakthrough for 2014 following wide praise for her single ‘Take it Back’; Spark’s brand new EP ‘First’ is available online now.

The EP, which has been written and musically directed by Spark herself, strips back one of her previous singles ‘Take It Back’, and introduces two brand new tracks ‘Vain’ and ‘Hear Me Out’. The EP showcases Spark’s tracks in a way that she feels to be her own distinct vocal and writing style. When not writing her own songs she is often making music with some of the most cutting edge producers in the country.

Raised in Walthamstow, East London, Spark wrote her first song at 7 years old and, by the age of 13, was selling her own songs on CD at Walthamstow Market. Spark prides herself on being an authentic British singer songwriter and her major influences range from Kate Bush through to Eminem and Tracy Chapman.

Despite being an unsigned artist Spark has recently found herself working with a community of British artists on album material and has been impressing with her live shows supporting Janelle Monáe and more recently Ella Eyre. This self produced and stripped back EP is a taste of things to come.

Spark said: “I realised that it doesn’t matter who’s around you, who loves you and supports you, you have to get up and go get it yourself…I’m doing it now. This time I’m not stopping for anyone.”
