With more than 25 years in the music industry, Sarah McLachlan is one of the most celebrated and respected female performers of all time, having sold more than 40 million albums worldwide and receiving three Grammy Awards and eight Juno Awards (Canada).

Before she turned 20, McLachlan released her gold debut album, Touch in 1988 in her native Canada. Less than a year later the album was reissued worldwide, as McLachlan began to develop beyond her cult status in the US and build a devoted following internationally. In 1997 McLachlan’s landmark 10x-platinum album Surfacing was released, the album contained two Grammy winning tracks; “Building a Mystery” and “Last Dance”.

In addition to her personal artistic efforts, she founded the Lilith Fair tour showcasing female musicians and raising more than $7 million for local and national charities over its three years. More than two million people were brought together and the careers of numerous women singer-songwriters were launched as a result. In 2002 she founded her non-profit organization the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. The school provides free after-school music education for at-risk and underserved kids who otherwise would have no access to music programming.

On top of all her success, Sarah McLachlan is best known and loved for her intimate vocals and relatable lyrics. Her latest album Shine On, released earlier this year (through Universal Music), is McLachlan’s first full-length recording of new material in four years. Shine On explores McLachlan’s personal journey over the last few years navigating love, loss and change. The album features a collection of eleven new songs recorded in Montreal, Vancouver and Los Angeles with Sarah’s long-time collaborator/producer Pierre Marchand, as well as Bob Rock and Vincent Jones. Shine On celebrates the human ability to grow from our experiences, thrive and shine on.

It’s been ten years since McLachlan performed her 2005 Afterglow Tour to her dedicated Australian fans and she’s thrilled to reconnect with this new collaboration.

“I love making records, but I like playing live even better. You’ve got the song, you know it’s great, and you get to take it some place else. You get to experiment and be in the moment with it. That’s everything to me,” says McLachlan.
