(UK) With highly anticipated new album Hairless Toys due May 11th and a sold out Roundhouse show coinciding with its release, Roisin Murphy today announces three further shows in November. Culminating in a show at London’s legendary Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, the tour also includes dates in Glasgow and Manchester. Tickets go on sale from 9am on May 1st here.
Hairless Toys, Roisin’s first album in eight years, is picking up early critical acclaim – “outstanding…a career high….how we’ve managed without Ms Murphy for so long, is frankly, a mystery” Mix Mag – with lead single ‘Exploitation’ playlisted at 6music and supported at Radio 2. ‘Exploitation’ also marks Roisin’s first stint behind the camera in the stunning video in her directorial debut.
Sonically adventurous with peerless production from long time collaborator Eddie Stevens, Hairless Toys is a career defining tour de force. Tipping its hat to the dark disco of European house music, Casablanca Records and Grace Jones, while seamlessly taking in the freedom and organic spirit of jazz, country and gospel.
Alongside her headline dates, Roisin will perform a series of select festival dates this summer including a headline spot in Bestival’s Big Top.
