‘Perrie’ is an eclectic and diverse record, with nods to Perrie’s rock’n’roll-influenced childhood, Motown, disco, country, 80s and of course bright, bold pop. The unifying thread is Perrie’s strong, soaring vocals that fearlessly grapple with each melody and top note. The record will include previous singles ‘Forget About Us’ and ‘You Go Your Way’.
In 2024 Perrie launched her solo music career with the smash hit single ‘Forget About Us’. The single was Top 10 in the UK and has had over 51 million streams to date. Perrie then released several other tracks in 2024 culminating in an amazing 98 million streams overall.
However, during the Christmas break in 2024 Perrie decided to pause her solo music career and take some time out to think about the direction of her music. She went back into the studio and focused on finding a sound that she was happy with. Perrie has changed many of the songs that were going to be on the original album she was going to release, and now feels she has a strong body of work with a unified sound and a personal point of view.
Sometimes artists need time to find their lane, and Perrie has worked hard in her home studio, ‘The La La room’,  to create a sound that is authentic to her and her voice. She has spent the last 9 months working with a close circle of writers and producers to create her most personal and autobiographical songs to date.
The resulting debut solo album will follow this autumn, and features songs that Perrie is extremely proud of. Perrie is sure the fans of her music will appreciate she needed this time out before pressing play on the next phase her solo career.
Perrie reflects on the last 9 months: “At the end of last year I was feeling so much pressure to release music and move quickly. I wasn’t happy and didn’t feel like the music I was releasing was right. During one of my therapy sessions, my therapist said if you’re not happy just take away that pressure and stop for a bit. She was right and I decided to press pause on my music.
I went back in the studio and spent time writing songs that were totally authentic to me and about subjects that were close to my heart, without the pressure of having to hit a release date. I absolutely love the album I have created and I’m really proud of it. This is the music I want to make and I’m super excited to release it to the world this October. I hope you love it as much as I do.”
