2 min read
To celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025, Girls Aloud and Polydor/Fascination Records will be releasing a special deluxe edition of the band’s third smash hit album ‘Chemistry’ this September.
The hit packed, classic album will be released as 3 CD deluxe edition and for the first ever on vinyl, as a beautiful pink vinyl and exclusive D2C picture disc (both of which contain a 4 page insert with exclusive new unseen imagery from the GA vault).
With the Xenomania team again in the production seat ‘Chemistry’ powers its way through many of Girls Aloud’s strongest and most loved tracks including ‘Biology’, ‘Whole Lotta History’, ‘Long Hot Summer’ and the band’s cover of ‘See The Day’.
To mark the announcement today Girls Aloud have released a new mix of the classic beloved deep cut ‘Singapore’. Produced by Brian Higgins and mixed by Manon Grandjean, ‘Singapore’ (Definitive Version) is now expanded with new sections including a gorgeous previously unheard pre-chorus from Sarah. The track originally appeared on a bonus disc for ‘The Sound of Girls Aloud’ alongside the mega hits ‘Something Kinda Ooooh’ and ‘I Think We’re Alone’ which are also included here. Listen HERE.
The ‘Chemistry’ 20th anniversary deluxe edition album also contains 4 previously unreleased tracks from the Girls Aloud vaults. Alongside ‘Singapore’, the album includes ‘Naked In the Shower’, a track that hints at the dancier direction the band were moving towards, ‘You Go Too Fast (Demo)’ originally written (although not included) for the ‘Herbie: Fully Loaded’ movie soundtrack and ‘Watch Me Go (We’re Disco)’ an alternate version of the Chemistry album track featuring a new intro and an extra middle eight section.
In addition, another new remix of ‘Singapore’ comes courtesy of Xenomania alumni and super-producer of the moment Jon Shave, acclaimed for his work on Charli XCX’s ‘BRAT’ album, who gives the track a pulsating club-ready makeover.
