4 min read

Girls Aloud and Polydor/Fascination Records will be releasing a special deluxe edition of the band’s second smash hit album ‘What Will The Neighbours Say?’ on March 8th 2024.

The double platinum album features five Top 5 singles including ‘Jump’, ‘The Show’, ‘Love Machine’, ‘Wake Me Up’ and the No.1 single ‘I’ll Stand By You’. It will be released as 3 CD deluxe edition which contains the original UK version of the album plus 3 never before heard Girls Aloud songs from 2004, alongside rarities, unreleased demos and exclusive remixes.

The three previously unreleased songs, recorded 20 years ago and available for the first time, are the band’s cover of the Chris Isaac classic, ‘Wicked Game’, alongside two new songs from the Girls Aloud vault that didn’t make the final cut of the album, ‘Disco Bunny’ and ‘Baby When You Go’.

The album also features classic B-sides such as ‘Androgynous Girls’ and ‘History’, rare TV performance edits of the hits, a sparkling selection of the album’s remixes and Girls Aloud’s much-loved covers from this era of Blondie’s ‘Hanging On The Telephone’ and Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman

Released on vinyl for the first time, the album will be available in as a sky-blue LP and as a limited edition D2C exclusive picture disc.

The 3CD track list will also be replicated on streaming and digital across all platforms.

Fans can pre-order the album now HERE.

The end of 2023 marked 21 years since Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine, Nicola and Sarah were voted the winners of Popstars: The Rivals and formed the all-conquering legendary pop band Girls Aloud. To celebrate this milestone with all of their fans, Girls Aloud announced last November that they will be coming together for a huge arena tour of the UK and Ireland in May and June of 2024.

The tour will be a celebration of Girls Aloud’s rich back catalogue and all the ground-breaking success they have achieved as a band. The hugely anticipated shows will feature all of the band’s historic pop hits including No.1 songs ‘Sound Of The Underground’, ‘The Promise’ and ‘I’ll Stand By You’, alongside cast-iron classics such as ‘Love Machine’, ‘Call The Shots’, Biology’, ‘Something New’ and ‘The Show’. Limited tickets for some shows are still available at girlsaloud.com.

The most successful girl group of the noughties, Girls Aloud have sold in excess of 5 million albums in the UK. The band hold the Guinness World Record for their 20 consecutive UK Top 10 singles. ‘Sound Of The Underground’ was the 2002 Christmas Number One, spending four weeks at the top of the charts and selling over a half a million copies in the process. Girls Aloud were nominated for five Brits Awards and won Best Single for The Promise. They were invited to record the official single for Children In Need twice. The band toured extensively, with their “Out of Control” tour witnessing over 30 arena dates. This summer, Kimberley and Nicola joined Years & Years at their Mighty Hoopla festival headline set in London to perform ‘Call The Shots’ and ‘The Promise’ with Olly Alexander.

Throughout various initiatives Girls Aloud have raised over £1million for breast cancer charities in the last year. In October 2022 Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine and Nicola held The Primrose Ball, a charity gala event for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and Cancer Research UK, as part of The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.  Hosted by the band and presented by Fearne Cotton, the evening saw performances by Olly Alexander, Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs) and Will Young, with a live auction including an original canvas depicting Sarah Harding by The Connor Brothers. More recently, a limited edition 7” vinyl release of the band’s debut single ‘Sound Of The Underground’ was released, also to raise funds for The Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal.

Due to phenomenal demand, Girls Aloud have added an additional 15 dates to their 2024 ‘The Girls Aloud Show’ UK/Ireland arena tour, which now includes 5 shows at The O2 London.
