News: BST Hyde Park announce the return of All Things Orchestral on 28 June

Alongside three weekends of legendary music, American Express presents BST Hyde Park opens its doors during the week to host the hugely popular summer event Open House. 2024’s edition will begin by hosting a very special classical music live experience – All Things Orchestral on Friday 28 June. Presented by Myleene Klass, featuring special guests including guitarist MILOŠ and violinist Esther Abrami, and performed by the world famous Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Michael England.

Using BST Hyde Park’s famous Great Oak Stage, which has hosted the world’s biggest music legends since 2013, fans will be taken on a summer night’s journey through classical music, both traditional and modern.

With the decline of music education in schools, orchestra and arts organisations’ funding cuts, and attendance of classical performances in decline, All Things Orchestral is here to turn the tables and bring classical music back for all – with affordable ticket prices and the world class live experience that has made BST Hyde Park a favourite fixture in London’s summer event calendar. One of the world’s biggest music festivals will be celebrating classical and orchestral music and showcasing All Things Orchestral as an event that can tour the UK.

True to the accessible ethos of Open House and All Things Orchestral, Gold Circle ticket prices will be available from £7.95 on first release.

Renowned host Myleene Klass will take audiences on a captivating journey, delving into the rich history and fascinating stories behind the repertoire, while seamlessly connecting them to the realm of contemporary music and beyond. Set amidst the iconic London Royal Park, this special event promises to be a spectacle for thousands of fans, offering not only the allure of exceptional music but also the beauty of the surroundings. This historic park has been graced by legendary artists such as The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Carole King, Bruce Springsteen, Barbara Streisand, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and many more, adding an extra layer of magic to the experience.

Myleene Klass says, “I’m beyond excited to return to BST Hyde Park to host what will be a fantastic night of classical and orchestral music. The programme has something for everyone to enjoy, it will be a truly special concert on a legendary stage – I’m ecstatic that I get to be a part of this event again, it really is a privilege.”

Acclaimed guitarist MILOŠ will be bringing his beautiful repertoire to this year’s All Things Orchestral. MILOŠ skyrocketed to fame in 2011 with his best-selling debut album ‘Mediterraneo’. Since then, he’s amassed a global following, topping charts, winning awards, and captivating audiences worldwide. His latest album, ‘Baroque’, released in October 2023, showcases baroque works meticulously arranged for guitar, including collaborations with Jonathan Cohen and Arcangelo. Additionally, ‘The Moon and the Forest’ features premiere concerti by Howard Shore and Joby Talbot, highlighting MILOŠ’ passion for new music.

MILOŠ has significantly boosted the guitar’s popularity over the past decade, even offering instructional materials through Schott’s ‘Play Guitar with Miloš’ series. Notably, he’s been recognised by BBC Music Magazine and has performed as a soloist with esteemed orchestras worldwide, including sold-out recitals at the Royal Albert Hall.

Violinist Esther Abrami is set to make her Hyde Park debut this summer. Esther Abrami broke barriers in 2019 by winning the ‘Social Media Superstar’ category at the Global Awards. Regarded as a leading young classical artist in the UK, she collaborates with the English Symphony Orchestra and champions women composers with ‘Her Ensemble’. Through her podcast ‘Woman in Classical’, Esther inspires young musicians. Her latest album, ‘Cinéma’ was released in September last year with Sony Classical. Further guests for All Things Orchestral to be announced.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at AEG Presents, says, “We are thrilled to be presenting another amazing orchestral concert as part of BST Hyde Park’s Open House. Classical and orchestral music is for everyone, and should be available to everyone – All Things Orchestral at BST Hyde Park is accessible and affordable, exposing new generations to a genre of music they might be less familiar with. We want audiences to be excited about this kind of music, and show that it is to be enjoyed just like any other.

Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, says, “We have a line-up of incredible artists for BST Hyde Park 2024, and we look forward to opening the festival with the world class Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
