Single Review: Mayer Hawthorne feat. Rizzle Kicks – ‘The Walk’
2 min readMayer Hawthorne may be an unfamiliar name right now however that is all set to change after the forthcoming release of his latest single and its parent record. The Walk is the brand new single for the singer who has teamed up with urban duo Rizzle Kicks, the duo that added their successful flavor to the Olly Murs #1 hit, Heart Skips A Beat.
The Walk is the introductory single for Hawthorne in the lead up to the musicians debut UK album, How Do You Do which is set for release a week after the single hits the shops and will hopefully be a sample of things to come and The Walk ushers in a successful career in the making.
The song unfolds well and the pairing of Hawthorne with the Hip Hop lashings of Rizzle Kicks is a winning combination as both bounce lightly off one another and in the process create a musically flowing and soul heavy number to launch Hawthorne’s name in the UK and also introduce Rizzle Kicks to US audiences.
Snoop Dogg has recently cited Hawthorne as the rappers favorite new artist and that can only provide further back up to the singers destined success which has also garnished him with a collection of A-list fans including John Mayer and Justin Timberlake and The Walk will no doubt pave the way for a successful 2012 for Hawthorne with his new UK fan base that is set to take off following this catchy numbers release.
