Single Review: Jill Scott feat. Anthony Hamilton – ‘So In Love’
2 min readThe RnB soul diva and three time Grammy Award winner that is Jill Scott is back with the tidy single release titled So In Love. Dripping in sensual grooves the single lends a hand from smooth crooner Anthony Hamilton who provides some seductively deep attributes around Scotts powerfully deep and crisp vocals.
The chorus contributes a firm filling to the track with its bouncy, repetitious statement of the title and the rest of the track grooves along with an infectious clapping and the passing of vocals between Scott and Hamilton while nearing the end of the record the whispery spoken word delivered by Scott adds a brief versatility to the track. All the right ingredients to make a standout RnB number.
So In Love acts as an introductory to the singers fourth studio record, The Light Of The Sun which is out later this month and is the follow up record to 2007’s The Real Thing: Words And Sounds Vol 3. So far the song has given Scott her highest single debut on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart hitting number 43 on its release and peaking at number 11 and is a welcome return for the singer who has steadily become one of RnB’s most influential artists of the past ten years.
