2 min readBalham duo-turned-foursome, Turin Brakes have enjoyed over 20 years as one of the most successful folk-rock outfits in the UK music scene. Since their debut The Optimist LP back in 2001, the band have released 9 studio albums and sold out countless shows over the years thanks to their incredible musicianship and songwriting that can be heard on hits like Painkiller, Underdog, Fish For a Dream, Sea Change, Save You and Keep Me Around.
The outfit ended 2023 on yet another high, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album, Ether Song and we were lucky enough to have caught them play London’s Islington Hall as they rode out the year giving the limelight back to one of their earliest releases.
We have been long-time fans of Turin Brakes here at Renowned For Sound so we were smiling like a Cheshire cat when the opportunity arose to have a very laid-back chat with front man and principle songwriter of the band, Olly Knights to talk about the tour, upcoming music and shows and the bands impressive 20+ year career.
