2 min readHe’s performed for the President, Oprah Winfrey and Beyonce. He has toured with Robin Thicke and supported Justin Timberlake and Jay Z’s 2013 Legends of the Summer tour. DJ Cassidy has been considered one of the finest DJ’s for the past 10 years by many of the worlds biggest stars. With a black book of contacts to envy, he has called on some of his recording artist friends to lay down a new collection to call his own – Paradise Royale.
For Paradise Royale, DJ Cassidy has teamed up with R Kelly, Mary J Blige, CeeLo Green, Usher, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Kelly Rowland and several other notable artists to create a collection that pays tribute to the music of the 70’s and 80’s, an era that the musician describes as the greatest and most universal dance music of all time. The record is currently being led by the catchy lead single Calling All Hearts which sees the DJ recording with pop heavyweights Jessie J and Robin Thicke on one of the years most vibrant and pink collaborations.
While the world renowned music maestro was visiting Sydney, we caught up with him to talk about the new album, working with the long list of notable artists that he has on the record and his vision for Paradise Royale. Here is what he had to tell us…
