Over the course of the last several decades, few artists in music have made such an impact on not just the music industry, but the arts as a whole. Through visually vibrant fashion statements, eye-catching music videos and vocally and lyrically inspiring hit singles and albums, pop icon Cyndi Lauper has become more than just a pin-up artist of the eighties; she has transcended into one of the most iconic musicians in entertainment.

Her music has traversed several borders over the years; from her early pop beginnings, Lauper has ventured into Jazz, Blues and Dance terrain; mastering each as she has tackled material usually only reserved for the greats of the respective genres.

She is about to venture into new territory this week with the release of her eleventh studio album – Detour. With this new collection, Lauper sets her sights on the Country music arena and she has enlisted a string of some of the most influential artists of the genre including Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris and Allison Krauss to perform on tracks within the 12 song collection.
