2 min read
After the critically acclaimed and highly anticipated release of her latest album, the minutes, and the records lead single, the passionately-charged If I Was Your Girl, vocal superstar Alison Moyet wastes no time in releasing the collections second single, Love Reign Supreme.
The flame has certainly been reignited on Alison’s career as her latest record offers evidence of. The record boasts some of the best material of Alison’s career to date and this latest single injects yet another show-stopping smash into a career already bursting with timeless classics.
With a gentle synth intro and some syrupy ‘ba-ba-ba-ba-da’ vocal improvs, Alison sways eloquently into Love Reign Supreme with a much softer approach that heard on the albums lead single. Its retro vibe echoes through the track from start to end, a nod perhaps to her synth-pop roots, whilst still maintaining a fresh, mainstream sensibility that will easily translate into radio alongside her chart-topping pop peers. The chorus is soaked in memorable hooks and spacey effects that help move this track alongside Alison’s distinctive and genre pushing vocal skills.
Love Reign Supreme is a sweet follow up to If I Was Your Girl with its contrasting rhythm and is garnished with a well-constructed retro backdrop and is sure to keep the momentum on Alison’s comeback at its rightful peak.
