It’s been eight years since Starsailor’s last studio album, and fans couldn’t be happier with this teaser from the upcoming fifth instalment, All This Life.
Listen to Your Heart has been described by lead singer and guitarist James Walsh as “an energetic, emotional song” – not that we’d expect anything less.
The pulsing rhythm jump-starts your heartbeat into an excited frenzy, pulling you into the story of lovers at odds. With a melodic voice captivating you, Starsailor compel us to have faith in who and what we love rather than doing the smart thing, listening to our “head,” and giving up hope.
Rather than allow differences to conjure fear in our hearts, we’re assured that absolute opposites create a sense of unity and happiness when joined together, making any struggle on this path well worth the effort. The raw emotion used to chant “listen to your heart” from 2:46 onwards is a goosebump-inducing mix between pleading and commanding, making his belief infectious.
