Single Review: Taylor Henderson – ‘When You Were Mine’

20 year old Taylor Henderson has already achieved more in his music career so far than some people ever will. With a platinum album and two times platinum number one single already under his belt, this singer songwriter has won over legions of fans with his down to earth nature. With so much already achieved will this new single, written by Taylor himself, have the same sort of success?

TaylorHenderson-WhenYouWereMineWhen You Were Mine talks about a lost love and wishing to buy back the time. As always, Taylor’s voice is effortless and doesn’t make the mistake of oversinging. Taylor has stated:”I made sure that there wasn’t one wasted word… the lyrics are all connected.” This is evident throughout the song, and ensures that many listeners can relate to it. The track takes some subtle tempo changes; it’s enough to make the song unique, but not enough so that it still feels disjointed. With a gorgeous guitar intro, this song is laid back and initimate, like the telling of a regretful decision to a close friend.

Taylor is certain to have another hit with this track, with its heartfelt lyrics and acoustic vibe. When You Were Mine epitomises everything that is Taylor Henderson, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.
